Helen’s writing includes A FUNNY STAGE, comprising 11 original songs performed at various venues including The Beacon (produced by TLC Productions) and The Pheasantry in London (produced by Paul L Martin). Her one-woman play PULLING FACES (starring Louise Jameson, Dir. Nigel Fairs) had an acclaimed UK tour in early 2011 and again in 2012. Prior to this it played at the Hackney Empire, directed by Susie McKenna. PULLING FACES has also been released on CD as an audio drama, produced by Big Finish Productions.
Helen has written the sci-fi audio dramas TANDEM and STEMMING THE TIDE, produced by Big Finish and released worldwide on CD. She was a winner in the 2004 ‘Raising Voices Again’ competition with her play HARMONY, which was performed at The Watermill Theatre, Newbury, directed by Andy Brereton. For the National Theatre Studio (at the age of 24), she was commissioned to write the script for UNTITLED, a one-woman musical with songs by the Mercury Workshop (including Stiles and Drewe) starring Olivier award-winner Janie Dee, directed by Tudor Davies.
With her own theatre company ‘Dreamscape’, she co-devised & co-produced the musical CHARLIE’S ANGEL at the Latchmere Theatre, directed by Deborah Bruce. Prior to that, she wrote and directed the play SERIOUSLY SINGLE, performed at The Arts Theatre, London, also THE STORYTELLERS for the Chichester Festival Theatre cabaret season.
